Use our free calculator to work out your Addmission point Score (APS) for UWC. Just enter your marks to see if you meet the requirements.
UWC calculates your APS using seven subjects, including Life Orientation. English and Mathematics are weighted, offering up to 15 points each. While LO adds up to 3 points, a 50% pass is mandatory for admission. Competitive degrees like Dentistry and Pharmacy require top marks in Mathematics and Sciences.
Applications for the 2027 cycle typically open in May 2026. Dentistry and Oral Health usually close early (31 August).
The University of the Western Cape uses a specialized weighted Admission Point Score (APS). To reward excellence in core foundations, UWC gives double weight to your results in English and Mathematics (or Mathematical Literacy).
