Critical UWC Admission Rules: UWC calculates your score based on 7 subjects: English + Mathematics/Math Lit + Life Orientation + your next 4 best academic subjects. What is the maximum possible APS score at UWC?
Due to the weighted core subjects, the maximum APS you can achieve at UWC is 65. This is calculated from English (15), Mathematics (15), Life Orientation (3), and four other subjects (8 points each).
Can I apply to UWC with Mathematical Literacy?
Mathematical Literacy is accepted for many degrees in the Humanities, Law, and Education faculties. However, degrees in the Science and Health Science faculties strictly require Pure Mathematics for admission.
Does UWC require the National Benchmark Test (NBT)?
NBTs are generally required for applicants to the Faculty of Dentistry and specific Community and Health Science programs. Most other faculties rely primarily on your NSC academic results for selection.
