If you are trying to log into your Fundi account and something is not working, you are not alone. Login issues are one of the most common problems Fundi students run into, usually because they are using the wrong portal, the wrong credentials, or they have forgotten their password and do not know how to reset it.
This guide covers every login method, what to do when you forget your username or password, and how to contact Fundi if you are still stuck.
There Are Two Different Fundi Portals. Make Sure You Are Using the Right One.
This is where most students go wrong first.
Fundi has two separate login portals and they are not interchangeable.
The one most students need first is sso.fundi.co.za. That's your main Fundi account, the one tied to your student loan, your One Stop Shop access, and your general account details. Username and password get you in, the ones you chose when you registered.
The other is mycard.fundi.co.za. Completely separate. This is purely for your card, checking what's in each pocket, uploading your bank details for cash allowances, blocking the card if it goes missing. You don't use a username here. You use your student number and your card PIN.
Wrong portal, wrong credentials, failed login even if everything you're typing is correct.
If you are trying to check your Fundi Card balance or manage your allowances, go to mycard.fundi.co.za. If you are trying to manage your loan account or access the One Stop Shop, go to sso.fundi.co.za or oss.fundi.co.za.
Logging Into Your Main Fundi Account
Head to fundi.co.za and hit the Login button, top right corner of the homepage. Two options come up: Student Login and Login for Institutions. You want Student Login.
Put in your username and password. These are whatever you set up when you first registered online. Click Login and you're in.
First time logging in after registering? Make sure you've clicked the verification link in the email Fundi sent you when you signed up. Without that step, the login won't work. If you can't find the email, check spam.
Can You Log In With Your ID Number?
Short answer: no.
Your ID number is what a Fundi staff member uses to pull up your account when you walk into a campus office. It's not your online login credential. Online, it's your username and password only.
Forgot your username? The recovery section below has you covered.
Resetting a Forgotten Password
Go to sso.fundi.co.za and click Forgot Password just below the login fields. Type in the email address you registered with and submit it.
Fundi sends a reset link to that email. When it arrives, click it, create a new password, confirm it, and you're done. Then go back and log in normally.
Didn't get the email? Check spam before you do anything else. It almost always ends up there. If it's genuinely not coming through after ten minutes, then contact support.
Recovering a Forgotten Username
Your username is connected to whatever email you used when you registered. Search that inbox for the original Fundi registration email. Your username will be in it.
Can't find the email? Call 086 055 5544 or email support@fundi.co.za. They'll ask for your ID number and student number to confirm it's actually you before they help, so have both ready before you reach out.
How to Log Into the Fundi Card Portal
Go to mycard.fundi.co.za. Enter your student number and your card PIN to access your Fundi Card account.
From here you can check the balance in each of your pockets, upload your banking details to receive cash or transport allowances via EFT, block your card if it has been lost or stolen, and view your transaction history.
If you have forgotten your card PIN, call the Fundi Card call centre at 0860 44 33 44. You can also visit a Fundi campus office and bring your ID or passport to have your PIN reset in person.
Alternatively, dial the USSD code by pressing star 134 star 87646 hash on your phone and follow the prompts to request a PIN reminder.
If none of the above steps resolve your issue, here is how to reach Fundi directly.
